Prepared for Jen Glantz by VS3

What people are actually typing

You said on the call that you wanted to grow the bridesmaid work, the speech and vow writing, and the wedding planning, and that the party tools had run their course. So we went and measured it. Here is what the search numbers said back.

First finding

You called it, and by more than ten to one

The three services you want to grow are searched about 48,180 times a month. The four tools you want to retire are searched about 4,200.

Grow: bridesmaid, speeches and vows, wedding planning
48,180
Difficulty 0 to 3 out of 100
Retire: bachelorette, bachelor, elopement, honeymoon
4,200
Difficulty 6 to 12 out of 100

Eleven searches on the side you want for every one on the side you don't.

Difficulty is a 0 to 100 score for how hard the pages currently ranking would be to displace. A 0 does not mean the work is free, only that nothing sitting on those results is a wall.

The four tools are not only the smaller half, they are the harder half. Letting them go costs you almost nothing, and it frees the homepage tiles they are sitting on.

The one we would take first

Wedding vow writer

3,600 searches a month. Difficulty 0. Advertisers pay $1.47 a click for it.

You already sell this. It is on your homepage as Wedding Speech & Vow Writing. Here is everyone Google is currently showing instead.

A photographer, an officiant, a therapist and a robot are all outranking you for a service you have been selling since 2014.

Six of those nine pages are guides, essays or free tools rather than sales pages, which tells us something useful about how to get on there. Google is answering "teach me how" on this phrase, not only "sell me this". The way in is a piece of writing that carries the offer inside it, which is exactly the kind of thing you already write.

The bigger door

Nobody searches "hire a bridesmaid" first

They search "maid of honor duties" at 6,600 a month, and "what does a maid of honor do" at 2,400. Both at difficulty 0.

That is the same woman, three months earlier, before she has worked out that she is in over her head. "Bridesmaid for hire" itself is 1,900 a month. The panic is nearly five times bigger than the purchase.

Who Google shows for "maid of honor duties" today: brides.com, paperlust.co, evalinesbridal.com, laceandfavour.com, delarosasbridal.com, trademarkvenues.com. Bridal shops and wedding venues, publishing checklists.

Not one of them has ever been the maid of honor for a stranger. You have done it hundreds of times.

Across all four groups of searches we ran, the pages ranking today are a bridal retailer with a checklist, a local vendor with a how-to, or Reddit. Every single one of them was written by somebody who sells something adjacent to a wedding and wrote the article to catch the traffic.

That is not a keyword gap. It is a first-hand experience gap, and it is the only kind that does not close the moment a competitor hires a writer.

You raised this one

The romance novel with your name on it

You are right that Meghan Quinn has taken the book half of your name. You are wrong about how much it matters, and there is a different book problem underneath it that nobody has looked at.

What she has actually taken

Search "bridesmaid for hire book" and her series owns the page: Goodreads at 1 and 7, her own author site at 3, Amazon at 4, a review blog at 5, Audible at 8, Target at 9. Your site is nowhere on it.

Search "bridesmaid for hire" on its own and she holds six of the results above you, including the IMDb page for the 2024 film. You sit at 22.

The part that is good news

She has taken the book half. She has not taken the service half. On every commercial phrase we tested, from "hire a bridesmaid" to "professional bridesmaid", she is not there either. Your Instagram is ranking on those and your site is not, which means the traffic is arriving and being handed to a platform instead of to you.

The book problem nobody mentioned

We also checked your own titles, and this is the one worth being annoyed about. Search "finally the bride", which is a book you wrote, and here is the whole first page.

Your own book title is being won by a different author and a domain name, and bridesmaidforhire.com does not appear on the page at all.

Meghan has nothing to do with this one. It is a page that does not exist yet.

What Meghan does that we would copy

We looked at why she wins. It is four pieces of plumbing, not better writing.

She does thisYou currently do this
One page per book on her own siteAll three books share a single page
Goodreads worked hard, holding two slotsA Goodreads author page that ranks only for your name
Amazon, Audible and Target all on page oneOne shop listing, at position 9, on a title you wrote
Book reviewers and bookstagram covering herPress coverage, but not on the book pages
All My Friends Are Engaged by Jen Glantz Always a Bridesmaid for Hire by Jen Glantz Finally the Bride by Jen Glantz

Three books, three audiences, one page. Splitting them is the cheapest thing on this entire document, and it is the one that gets you back onto a search for your own work.

One thing we spotted on the way past

Your books page says GRAB THE BUNLE

Twice, on both buttons, in capitals, on the page where the money is. The homepage button next to it says GRAB THE BOOKS, so it is just the one page.

GRAB THE BUNLE bridesmaidforhire.com/books

This is not strategy and it is not why anything ranks. Say the word and we will fix it for you, whatever you decide about the rest of this.

And here is the shape of it

One of these, written properly

We built you a sample. It is a real article on a real search term, written from your book and your site, with nothing about your life invented. It is here to show the format, not to be published as it stands.
